Call for Papers for the exp.at’19 Special Track STIMHA’19 “Smart Technologies and Interactive Media for Health Applications
Experiment@International Conference 2019, exp.at’19, http://expat.org.pt/expat19/
exp.at’19 is the 5th event of the conference series exp.at’xx. The conference will be held at the University of Madeira (Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal) on June 12-14, 2019, and it is a joint organization of University of Porto and University of Coimbra with the collaboration of University of Madeira. The conference will feature the technical support of IEEE (IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and IEEE Education Society) and the Portuguese Engineers Association.
STIMHA’19 aims to bring together researchers and practitioners and highlight the latest developments in embedded technologies, sensors and interactive systems in health applications. In the last years, there has been increasing interest in the application in the health domain of embedded systems, of novel sensing technologies together with entertainment technologies and interactive media to visualize and interpret health data, to allow individualized treatments, to facilitate learning motivation, or to provide patients with enjoyable coaching systems for homework exercises, just to name a few examples. For in-stance, the uses of Gamification, Virtual Reality and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are exponentially increasing in the field of rehabilitation, mental health and functional fitness, with clinical results that prove their effectiveness. This special track invites authors to submit contributions on concepts, applications, techniques or environments where smart systems and/or interaction design play a central role in improving health practices at all levels.
